Is your 13yo son headed in the same direction as your older boys – wrestling? Always tough to be a younger sibling to high achievers. Great that you are able to get him to workout with the old man.
Your shopping list looks realtively clean.

Our younger set of twins are more into the arts, Son plays the trumpet, Daughter is a dancer. Son runs track and plays golf. Daughter is 13 going on 26 and too much so into boys.
Like their older brothers they apply themselves to everything they do. Both are great students, although there has been discussion of a math test grade tonight!
Older boys seem to be settling into daily life at school.
Trying to stick to the diet, getting some mileage out of the chicken. Chicken and salad for dinner tonight. Carcass could end up in a soup.

Most parents of daughters agree that between the ages of 13 & 25 they should be shipped off to a secluded Island. Two reasons – one you know – the other – well – has she started to slap you or her mom down with the word “fine” or some similar phrase? Love my daughter – but damn – my son’s silence was soooo comforting,
But then – the opposite kicks in – “A daughter is your daughter for the rest of you life. A son is a son until he takes a wife.

Capt….great job working out with your son! Those are truly priceless moments….you are one incredible role model!
Now…on the young lady topic…my daughter is 13 and tells me she will not have any boyfriends for quite sometime…wonder how long that will last! She is not anything like I thought a teenage girl would be…I was thinking lot’s of difficult times…my daughter is so easy going and loving…I better keep my fingers crossed….I do see some girls out there…scary…and boy crazy!
Good luck and enjoy those kids….sounds like you have raised them to be wonderful kids!

The stresses of running a big kids toy business during a depression are nothing compared to raising four kids!
We are fortunate in the fact that our kids have been very teachable. They are paying attention more then we think most of the time.
Yes TNT, daughter is using exactly that term, “Fine” as she rambles into her room. She alone makes raising the boys look like a cake-walk! and she’s only 13!
Daughter has just started (within the last week) her first puppy-love relationship, always on the phone. He seems to be a good kid, decent family. We are monitoring closely.
#3 Son is quiet as you suggest. This one comes home from every school dance with a different girlfriend if you call it that in the 8th grade.
#1 son at collage is settling into his studies just fine it seems.
And then theres #2 son; he has been off to collage for 3 weeks now, he has shaved his head and is, we believe, in the process of joining a fraternity. We have wind that he is contemplating a tattoo! (Facebook) He may be enjoying the collage life a little too much a little too soon. Mother is on it!
BBMom, if there were ever a great roll model as a parent it is you. With all you do for your children and husband, they are very fortunate to have you as the mom & wife.
Be Well.

Capt,
I love that all your kids have their own personalities….I am not looking forward to the first boyfriend with my daughter…but don’t see that anytime soon! My son has had his girlfriend for 14 months…love her to death…just want to make sure he keeps his focus and pursues the life he wants to lead!!!!
Sounds like college is sitting well with both boys! LOL!
You are so kind…I truly appreciate all your kind words, I try to be the best that I can be!!!
Enjoy!
