Thinking about the summer challenge goals today. Thought about doing another 10,000 Rep Challenge. 3600 would be too easy, 7200 would probably be more like it, 10,000 would make me work.
By using the NROL workouts as the basis for the bulk of the reps would keep the skeptics from figuring the accomplishment had no merit. Figuring 200Lb+ squats and 80lb Bulgarian Split Squats to mention a couple moves would make for a challenge in itself. I would fill in with a couple types of push-ups, planks, crunches, and cable works.
I know I will be running in 2 5K’s in July. No real bearing here, just thinking out loud.
One obstacle; as of Memorial Weekend my gym will be closing at 1pm on Saturday and noon on Sunday, these are 2 of my most productive gym days. Not having the gym these 2 days would make the accomplishment even more difficult.
Might have to wait for the fall challenge, but not any longer. I wonder if I could get anyone else on the forum to go along with me?
Glad I still have a few days to figure out what my summer challenge goals will be.

Early gym closing – sucks big time. I go super early in the am – when the place opens – in order to avoid the crowds and the early closings on holiday weekends.
I will be away for 9 days – the 4th through the 13th – going to be interesting to see if and how I can exercise during that time from – too many travel days.
Enjoy

Finding the time while you are on vacation might be an interesting task. Knowing you, you will find a happy medium between exercise and relaxation.
I just reread my post and I was really not that clear. The summer hours kick in at the gym from Memorial Weekend through Labor Day, Only open 7AM -Noon on both Saturday & Sunday.
Saturday I work, need to make hay while the sun shines.
Sunday, My 4-some has a standing Tee Time at 7AM. (when I’m not doing something with the family)
My workouts will have to come on the weekdays. I’ll figure it out.
Not that I couldn’t do it now but pulling off a 10,000 would be easier in the fall. Maybe I can get one of those inside challenges started.

Do you count every rep of every exercise you do? I only count the list I prepared. Some overlap with the workout, others don’t.
You will find the time to get all your workouts in – no question. Why make the summer more pressured than it already is?
I have actually been “relaxing” since the last challenge ended – a first for me. My wife asked me why I wasn’t going to the gym this morning – I said – with a straight face – “I think I am going to stop going.” She paused – then said – “I don’t think I like that.” Funny how things turn around.

I only count what I prepare also, not warm up exercises or cool down. If I were to do a challenge that included a quantity of reps based on NROL workouts I would count these reps along with others done at the same visit.
Is it incorrect to count that way? If I removed the NROL from the equations then as opposed to a 10,000 I’d have to call it a 5000. You are right though, Why push so hard, I guess it’s just who I am, I have to be busy or I get myself into mischief, volunteering for lake association stuff or things of the such. .
What I really should be doing is to prepare for the 5K’s. I have a friend of mine who run last year with me, neither one of us did real well but he has taken to an elliptical over the winter hard and has lost 86 lbs as of last fall. I am sure he has built up his endurance. I guess I need to get to work so I don’t get smoked!
I could just see your wife’s face when you said, “no more gym”. It would be a radical a change as when you first started.

I don’t think there is a correct or incorrect way of counting. Some individuals use the 3600 as the heart of their RT & CT workouts. Others, to focus on specific components that they are stressing. The purpose, like the 40-4-40 was and is to make people stretch – I don’t think that is your problem.
I have significantly cut back on my volunteerism. There was a time that between my wife and myself we were out every night of the week and then at weekend events. We have called a halt to those days. Now – only those things which generate $ or the gym. We have learned to say No. LOL.
